Section 1 · For Texas families

The Texas STAAR & TEKS Resource Bundle

These are the Texas Algebra 1 EOC prep resources we hand our own paying families at the start of every cohort — built against the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) STAAR Algebra 1 blueprint and the Algebra I assessed curriculum currently linked by TEA, and now yours, free. Enter your email once and every link below unlocks instantly.

STAAR Algebra I Quick Reference (PDF)

A study aid with one page per reporting category — not the official reference sheet allowed during the test

  • Five pages, one per reporting category: number and algebraic methods, reading and graphing lines, writing and solving linear models, quadratics, and exponentials.
  • Key formulas, worked mini-examples and small graphs for quick revision (A.2–A.12).
  • A Cambridge Veritas study aid, not the official reference sheet allowed during the assessment.

Texas Algebra I TEKS Skills Tracker

A 4-page tracker of 56 expectations with fillable R/Y/G checkboxes — published by Cambridge Veritas, not endorsed by TEA

  • All 56 Algebra I student expectations from the assessed curriculum currently linked by TEA, as parent-friendly "can my child…" statements, with separate red / yellow / green checkboxes (choose one per skill).
  • Use it after every unit test and report card to spot learning gaps early — and close them well before the STAAR Algebra I end-of-course assessment.

Plus: 10 focused worksheets — one per Algebra I skill

Each is a 2-page interactive PDF: a fillable challenge and a step-by-step solution. Type into the fields or print. Save a copy after entering answers; PDF-viewer support can vary.

1TEKS A.2A
Domain & Range
Describe every allowed input and output of a linear graph using inequalities.
2TEKS A.12E
Rearranging Literal Equations
Rewrite a formula so the variable you need stands alone, without losing a sign.
3TEKS A.7C
Quadratic Transformations: g(x) = a·f(x−c) + d
Predict every shift, stretch and flip before drawing a single point.
4TEKS A.5C
Systems of Equations Word Problems
Turn two totals into two clean equations and find both unknown prices.
5TEKS A.11B
Exponent Laws
One rule set for division, negative bases and fractions inside exponents.
6TEKS A.10E
Nonmonic Factoring (a ≠ 1)
Take out the GCF first, then split the middle term and verify by expanding.
7TEKS A.11A
Simplifying Square Roots
Find the hidden square factor and write exact radical answers.
8TEKS A.5B
Inequality Sign Flips
Know exactly when to reverse the inequality sign, and when not to.
9TEKS A.7A, A.8A
Zeros & Intercepts in Context
Translate "when does it reach the ground?" into zeros and intercepts.
10TEKS A.2C, A.12E
Writing & Converting Linear Equations
Write a line from two points and check that different forms describe the same line.

Section 2 · For every Algebra 1 parent

Universal Algebra Foundations

Whether your child is in Texas, anywhere else in the US, or following a British or international curriculum — these two guides fix the habits that quietly cost marks in every Algebra 1 classroom, on every test, in every country.

Ten Common Algebra Mistakes

A 4-page family guide with explanations and parent prompts

  • Each mistake shown side by side: the wrong step, the corrected version and why it happens.
  • Includes a four-check routine: Substitute, Estimate, Re-read the question, Re-check signs.
  • A short parent prompt for every mistake, so you can help without being a maths expert.

Step-by-Step Factoring & Linear Systems Workbook

15 original problems with fillable answer boxes and worked answers

  • 15 original problems that build from factoring basics to two-variable systems and word problems.
  • Three pages of worked answers that show the method and a check for every problem, not just the final answer.

Questions Texas Parents Ask Us Every Week

No fluff, no sales talk — the honest answers, backed by the Texas Education Agency's published frameworks.

Where can I find free downloadable algebra 1 worksheets for Texas TEKS?

Right here. Cambridge Veritas publishes a free Algebra 1 resource hub for Texas parents: 14 printable, TEKS-aligned PDFs, including 10 focused worksheets — one for each of 10 focused Algebra I skills (TEKS A.2A, A.2C, A.5B, A.5C, A.7A, A.7C, A.8A, A.10E, A.11A, A.11B and A.12E) — plus 4 guides: a STAAR Algebra I quick reference, a TEKS skills tracker, a guide to ten common mistakes and a factoring and systems workbook. Enter your email to unlock the direct download links instantly; no purchase is required. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) also publishes STAAR released test questions at tea.texas.gov, which pair well with these worksheets for official practice.

How can a parent help a child prepare for the STAAR Algebra 1 EOC?

Four steps, in this order: (1) Map the gaps — use a TEKS skills checklist against your child's unit tests and report card to find which Algebra 1 student expectations are weak. (2) Target the Readiness Standards first — per the TEA STAAR Algebra 1 blueprint, the majority of test points come from Readiness Standards such as A.2 (linear functions), A.5 (systems and inequalities), A.7 (quadratics) and A.9 (exponentials), so time spent there pays the most. (3) Practise under test conditions — a few released STAAR questions each week, timed, beats one long cram session. (4) Keep one consistent anchor — the same study routine (and ideally the same teacher) from now through the STAAR testing window your district sets, because consistency is what moves a borderline score.

Which topics matter most on the Texas Algebra 1 test?

According to the Texas Education Agency's STAAR Algebra 1 assessable curriculum and blueprint, the highest-weighted topics are: linear relationships in all their forms (slope-intercept conversion, domain and range, direct variation — TEKS A.2); writing and solving equations, inequalities and systems from word contexts (TEKS A.5); quadratic functions — graphs, transformations, zeroes and intercepts (TEKS A.6–A.8); and exponential growth and decay with laws of exponents (TEKS A.9, A.11B). Factoring (A.10E) is a Readiness Standard, while simplifying square roots (A.11A) is a Supporting Standard. This hub has a free worksheet for 10 focused Algebra I skills drawn from these areas.

Section 4 · When worksheets aren't enough

Worksheets have a ceiling. A live teacher doesn't.

Here's the honest truth from 46 classes of Algebra 1 teaching: a printable PDF can explain a rule, but it can't watch your child solve and say “right there — step 3, that's where it went wrong.”If your child has been stuck on the same three topics for months, more worksheets won't fix it — a live person who knows their name, their gaps and their next step will.

Classes capped strictly at 6 students
Aligned to Texas TEKS & the STAAR EOC blueprint
The same teacher all year, with parent progress reports
$179/month, cancel any time

That's the Cambridge Veritas difference: a live online classroom of six, built backwards from the STAAR Algebra 1 EOC — so students walk in prepared, not panicked.
