CVFE® Course Overview

What Is Financial English?

Financial English is the specialised professional English used to explain numbers, trends, risk, financial statements, products, markets, recommendations, and business decisions. CVFE® is a live online Financial English course for professionals working in banking, accounting, audit, fintech, investment, insurance, trade finance, and corporate finance.

Designed for B1+ learners who already understand their finance subject, the 10-week programme develops the English needed to write reports and client emails, discuss loans and credit, present figures and market information, participate in meetings, explain financial statements, and negotiate professionally. Live faculty-led classes combine finance vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, role-play, and personalised trainer feedback.

CVFE® teaches English communication for finance; it does not teach learners to become finance professionals or award a regulated finance qualification.

Entry Requirements

A minimum B1 CEFR English level is recommended, together with prior finance knowledge from study or work. Learners should be ready for active speaking, financial reading and writing, presentations, client role-play, and feedback. Reliable internet, a microphone, and a headset are required. Current live-session times and weekly workload are confirmed before enrolment.

The CVFE® certificate is issued by Cambridge Veritas. It is not the former Cambridge English: Financial examination, which Cambridge English discontinued in December 2016.
