What you will be able to do
- Check the current PTE tasks
- Separate delivery from task completion
- Use verified diagnostic functions
Check the current PTE tasks
Pearson introduced Respond to a Situation and Summarize Group Discussion in August 2025. Use current official material instead of an old task list.
Separate delivery from task completion
Clear speech does not prove that a response addressed the task or represented its source accurately. Integrated tasks need their own preparation.
Use verified diagnostic functions
General feedback on speech clarity and fluency can support practice. A dedicated PTE workflow in Veritas has not been established here.
Treat benchmarks as estimates
An external speaking estimate is not a Pearson result or a complete prediction. Do not use it as admission or visa evidence.
Work through an original example
A fictional candidate speaks fluently but omits the central point of a source discussion.
Delivery practice may help clarity, but content review against the original task is also necessary.
Practice commentary
Why this version works
Answer: The example shows why fluency alone cannot establish task performance or an official score.
Practise, check and try a changed task
Attempt a current official practice task. Review content separately from pronunciation and pace.
Use general feedback only for the dimensions it actually supports. Do not label a self-created exercise an official mock.
- Check the meaning against the original task, rather than rewarding impressive wording alone.
- Keep one concrete observation and one next action; avoid treating a single attempt as a complete assessment.
Use a diagnostic report as a starting point
If you use Veritas Speech Analyser, inspect the current supported goals, report examples and plan allowances first. The advertised trial has a limited session allowance and requires payment authorisation; check renewal and cancellation terms before starting. Keep an original recording and review the feedback against what you actually said.
Diagnostic speaking practice
See whether the speaking report fits your practice needs
Review current features, sample-report limitations, trial requirements and plan terms before recording.

Sources, scope and accuracy
