AI IELTS Speaking Assessment: A Record-and-Review Practice Routine

Check the official task

IELTS Speaking has three parts and four assessment criteria. A short sample does not automatically reproduce the full interview.

Record an original response

Use an appropriate practice prompt and answer naturally. Memorisation can conceal the skill you want to examine.

Relate feedback cautiously

Veritas describes five dimensions; official IELTS groups assessment into four criteria. Do not equate product percentages with official criterion scores.

Practise then transfer

Use feedback as a hypothesis, verify it and try a fresh response. An improved rehearsed answer is not a guaranteed exam result.

Work through an original example

A fictional learner receives advice about repeated wording. They check the recording and find the repetition occurs while searching for an example.

Practice focuses on selecting a relevant example and expressing it clearly, then answering another question.

Practise, check and try a changed task

Record one original answer and identify one feedback item supported by audio. Practise the relevant skill.

Answer a new question and ask whether the improvement transfers. Seek teacher feedback where interpretation remains uncertain.

• Check the meaning against the original task, rather than rewarding impressive wording alone.
• Keep one concrete observation and one next action; avoid treating a single attempt as a complete assessment.

Use a diagnostic report as a starting point

The advertised trial has a limited session allowance and requires payment authorisation; check renewal and cancellation terms before starting. Keep an original recording and review the feedback against what you actually said.
