almost:

adverb

Not quite; very nearly.

Example: Between 1950 and 2007 the percentage of the population living in cities in Latin America and the Caribbean almost doubled, from 42% to 76%.

already:

adverb

Before or by now or the time in question.

Example: However, in Europe over half the people already lived in cities in 1950.

further:

adjective

Additional to what already exists or has already taken place, been done, or been accounted for.

Example: In Asia the percentage will continue to grow at the same speed, with a further increase of 25%.

graph:

noun

A diagram showing the relation between variable quantities, typically of two variables, each measured along one of a pair of axes at right angles.

Example: The graph compares the growth in the percentage of the population.

growth:

noun

Something that has grown or is growing.

Example: The graph compares the growth in the percentage of the population.

however:

adverb

Used to introduce a statement that contrasts with or seems to contradict something that has been said previously.

Example: However, in Europe over half the people already lived in cities in 1950.
