CVAP® is a 10-week live online Aviation English course for pilots, student pilots, cadets, air traffic controllers, flight crew, and aviation professionals who need clearer communication in operational environments. Learners practise radiotelephony, standard phraseology, plain English, readback, clarification, pronunciation, listening, and communication during routine and non-routine aviation scenarios.
Faculty-led sessions connect aviation vocabulary and communication functions to ground movement, runway situations, weather threats, level changes, decision-making, approach and landing risks, technical malfunctions, and incident reporting. Training uses speaking, listening, role-play, scenario practice, and personalised feedback.
CVAP® is a Cambridge Veritas training programme and course certificate. It is not an ICAO, DGCA, EASA, CAA, or national civil aviation-authority language-proficiency licence or official test.
The course runs for 10 weeks across 10 units. A minimum B1 CEFR English level is recommended. Student pilots and cadets can enrol; learners should already be studying or working in an aviation context and be ready for active speaking, listening, readback, operational role-play, and feedback. A reliable internet connection, microphone, and headset are required. Live-session times and weekly workload are confirmed by the course team before enrolment.

ICAO-Aligned Communication Practice
CVAP® develops communication across the six language areas associated with the ICAO language-proficiency framework. Training also covers standard phraseology and the plain language needed when phraseology alone cannot communicate an intended message.
Build intelligibility through clearer aviation sounds, word stress, rhythm, and intonation without requiring a particular accent.
Use grammatical patterns accurately enough to communicate time, sequence, conditions, causes, consequences, and operational relationships.
Develop sufficient aviation and plain-English vocabulary to discuss routine work, unexpected situations, risks, and operational decisions.
Speak at an effective pace, maintain a clear message, and reduce hesitation when operational communication becomes less predictable.
Strengthen listening for radiotelephony, instructions, readbacks, different accents, changing conditions, and non-routine information.

Learners complete speaking, listening, readback, clarification, plain-English, incident-reporting, and operational role-play tasks during the course. The final trainer evaluation provides feedback on intelligibility, comprehension, communication repair, phraseology, fluency, and next steps. This is course assessment, not an official ICAO or civil aviation-authority proficiency test.
After successfully completing the required participation and course assessment, learners receive a digital Cambridge Veritas Aviation English course certificate with a unique verification ID.
