noun
A vehicle consisting of two wheels held in a frame one behind the other, propelled by pedals and steered with handlebars attached to the front wheel.
Example: The charts below show the reasons why people travel to work by bicycle or by car.
A four-wheeled road vehicle that is powered by an engine and is able to carry a small number of people.
adjective
(especially of clothes or furnishings) providing physical ease and relaxation.
Example: The percentage who prefer to travel by car because it is more comfortable is 40%.
adverb
Introducing a statement or idea which reverses one that has just been made or referred to.
Example: Conversely, the second chart gives reasons for those who choose to go to work by car.
The sport or activity of riding a bicycle.
Example: 16% say they prefer driving because it is faster than cycling.
Relating to the natural world and the impact of human activity on its condition.
Example: It seems that the majority of people who cycle to work do this for health and environmental reasons.

Feel or show approval or preference for.
Example: The highest percentage of those who favour cycling say that this is because riding a bicycle to work is healthier than driving.
The state of being free from illness or injury.
The presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects.
Example: The same amount of people, 30% say that they cycle to work because it causes less pollution.
Like (one thing or person) better than another or others; tend to choose.
The sport or activity of riding on bicycle or horses etc.
In a way that causes surprise; unexpectedly.
Example: Surprisingly, a similar amount of people said that they cycled to work because it is faster than travelling by car.
