conference:

noun

A formal meeting of people with a shared interest, typically one that takes place over several days.

Example: She will be attending a history conference at the University of California-Berkeley.

eagerly:

adverb

Used to emphasize a strong desire to do or have something.

Example: I am already eagerly awaiting your reply to this first letter.

introduce:

verb

Make (someone) known by name to another in person, especially formally.

Example: Let me first introduce myself. I’m currently working as a computer programmer in a large multi-national company.

opportunity:

A time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something.

Example: I am very glad to have this opportunity to write to you and become pen pals.

pen Pal:

noun phrase

A friend made and kept through correspondence.

Example: I obtained your name and address from Pen Pals International.

perhaps:

Used to express uncertainty or possibility.

Example: Perhaps we could spend a day or two together.

province:

A principal administrative division of a country or empire.

Example: I’m also very interested in travelling, and have visited every province in Chinese at least once.
